Trump is building and remodeling the 114 year old building and is under budget and ahead of schedule. Key is this : Trump is LEASING the building from the Federal government. It will be run, in part, by the National Park Service. Trump's base monthly rent is $250,000 but escalates at the Consumer Price index. The GSA says the deal will save taxpayers millions of dollars. The GSA (Federal Government) said: "It was a combination of the viability of the business plan, the quality of the commitment to preserving the asset and a sense that this was the best deal on the table for the American taxpayer.”
